Crab Legs? Really, Jameis Winston? You Stole Crab Legs!?

April 30, 2014 By Nick A.

Since it’s late and I’ve decided to write this post now, I’m sure I’m the last one out on the Internet to write about the Jameis Winston’s crab leg incident. And just for the record, I waited this long on purpose.

I guess I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that the Florida State quarterback shoplifted crab legs. FLIPPIN’ CRAB LEGS!

Crab Legs? Really, Jameis Winston? You Stole Crab Legs!?

Melina Vastola/USA TODAY Sports

I still haven’t read too much into why or how he got caught doing this act, but the fact that he did it in the first place after the whole sexual assault accusation, you’d think the Heisman Trophy winner would do anything he possibly could to stay out of trouble. And the fact that he would risk it all (football and baseball) over some seafood is just plain ridiculous. You have to wonder about the guy’s thought process. And I find it hard to believe that if he was “that hungry”, that he felt the need to steal his food. I mean, if you’re starving that badly, why the heck wouldn’t you grab something a little more filling and less work to prepare. Or how about dig for some change and hit up a dollar menu at some fast food joint. A lot of us have been to college and know how hard it is to get by. And most of us didn’t have a scholarship to help us get through college.

I’m just hoping that when I wake up tomorrow morning, that this is all a bad dream. No athlete with that much talent would risk it all over some seafood.

Nope, I don’t believe it.
