Now before you take that headline too far and think Cam Newton is challenging Richard Sherman on the football field, you’re only partially right.

Newton posted a video to YouTube on Monday and challenged Sherman to a game on Madden ’15. Yes, he challenged him to a virtual game of football. But why, Sherman? Well, the two are the finalists to be on the game’s cover this year. The second year in a row that Newton has been a finalist, so I’m sure he doesn’t want to come up a loser two years in a row.
And what if Sherman turns down this challenge? Well, Newton decided to take it one step further and challenged all of Madden Nation and gave out his official Twitter and Instagram accounts for those gamers willing to take him on to contact him.
The world now waits and wonders: Will Sherman call the CAM PAIN hotline or will he not?
Knowing Sherman, he’ll probably fuel this fire to have a little fun. Or will he? There is that ol’ Madden Curse to be aware of and maybe this is one contest that Sherman doesn’t want to win.
